"I was sitting at a stoplight in Altadena, Ca. when I had a sudden, full-body realization: my right hand flew involuntarily into the air and I declared, out loud, “I am life”. This was an obvious realization to my intellect but a first-time, full-sensory experience. The world was alive and I was not separate from it. That was the genesis of I.AM.LIFE: a project dedicated to restoring our connection to the natural world with an emphasis on empowering young people. Many years earlier, in my early 20s, spontaneously exploring the California coast, I stumbled upon Big Sur, the Esalen Institute, and a new world of possibilities. There I wrote Sunflowers & Wood, discovered life was more than I’d thought, and soared into it."

lyrics
If I share my love it’s true
That if I do
I share the world with you
Fallen petals, grains of sand
In our hands
Reveal the truth
At our essence we are all just hands
Searching for grains of truth
In your presence I can understand
My journey ends & begins with you
And if I share my love it’s true
That if I do
I share the oceans too
We’re drifting branches in the sand
our hands
Reveal the truth
In a moment we will all be free
Free to begin to choose
Love is letting go of all I knew
And all I believed as true
And it wont take too long
This feeling so strong
This love everlasting
Like sunflowers & wood
Can make us feel good
And we’re feelin’ the same way
and if I say the world is blue
and if I do
I see this blue in you
It’s blue like pebbles in the sand
That our hands
Reveal as true
At our essence we are all just hands
Searching for grains of truth
In your presence I can understand
My journey ends and begins with you
And we know a thing or two
About the way the world moves
she moves in you
in our hearts
the flowers bloom
in pots and pans and bowls of clay
we make from weathered wood and throw-aways
So what can I say
In the crash of wave
I picked out a few things
Like from ego to heart
Is where love truly starts and
We’re feeling the same way
So what can I say…

Thank you Bird Tribe for allowing me with this sacred music to fly high with angels & Spirit in the sky. This album helps me to connect with the heartbeat of my soul & mother Earth. It feels divine to be re-united with Bird Tribe. We are the ones we been waiting for , re-uniting together as One across Mother Earth here & now. Remembering we came here to be free what our souls came here to be. Time is now. Keep singing from your heart Bird Tribe:) emeraldfairy

Sultry vocals and sensuous grooves. Erykah Badu, Portishead, you get the idea... Fused with an Appalachian roots thing, it’s neo-soul reinterpreted. Very good stuff here. Lute FP
